First of all Where are you located? second you might use some of the stories
found in RAIN postings as possible topics to be discussed or analysed.
Consider also having speakers who are not directly related to the field of
records and information management. What you say non-RIM folks! yup. is
there an archives in your area? If so consider a tour of the archives or
have the archivist in charge give a presentation to the chapter.
Now here is a new idea -- we have take your children to work day, why not
take your boss to the Chapter meeting. They will see the different
industries that are involved and maybe meet some potential clients or make a
new business contact. But be sure it is an interesting topic.
Have the director of medical records at the local hospital give a talk about
the problems facing the healthcare industry especially in the area of
records.f
Have members offer to give tours of their facilities. Take of tour of the
local offsite records storage facility.
Have Hugh Smith of Firelock come and give a talk about vaults and NFPA 232.
I could go on and on. Feel free to contact me off list if you wish.
