I'd like to correct a misunderstanding in Hugh Smith's post this morning.  Hugh stated:

"...Some of the independent storage vendors feel this is an opportunity to
garner the NARA records into their centers. .... All they have to do is spend a little money and they can meet the standard. Then NARA starts sending millions of boxes
to out-sourced storage. ..."

It is the individual Federal agencies, not NARA, that would send their records to storage vendors that meet the NARA standard.
