I've just received word that the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale has TWO
librarian positions open!
Technical Services Librarian
Reference/Collection Management Librarian
The first is available immediately, the second sometime in September. Both
positions require MLS degrees and some experience (but not necessarily as a
professional librarian, i.e. graduate assistantship should work).
I started my career at AIFL and worked there for a year before coming to
FAU. It was one of the best experiences ever! Working in a smaller
institution as your first position gives you an excellent feel for
everything that goes on in a library, and you have more opportunities to do
a variety of duties. If you have any interest in art & design-related
programs, this is also an excellent place to go. Their programs include
graphic design, computer animation, interior design, industrial design,
fashion design, culinary arts, and a few others. Having worked there, I
can verify that the faculty are great to work with and the students (nearly
one-third international) a fascinating group of people.
If you are interested in either position, contact Heather Payne, Director
of the Meinhardt Library, Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale at 800-275-7603
or 954-463-3000, ext. 751 or email her at [log in to unmask]
