I recently used two new message rules which separate the bulk of the Spam from the bulk of wanted mail. It is easy and simple to do.
The rules are based on the fact that almost all Spam does not have your mailbox name in the To: column.
Proceed as follows for personal mail separation (outlook explorer specifics) 1. Set up a new folder called Personal Mail (or something else) 2. Write a new rule which sends all mail addressed to your mail addresses to Personal Mail and then deletes it from the inbox.
Mail list mail has the name of the Mail list in the mailbox, so
Proceed as follows for Mail List mail separation (outlook explorer specifics) 1. Set up a new folder called Mail List Mail (or something else) 2. Write a new rule which sends all mail addressed to your mail list addresses to Mail List Mail and then deletes it from the inbox.
All the Spam is now in your inbox, so you can whiz through deleting it.
Of course if you wish to set up more folders, then you can divide your mail further.
