Adam Kent and I walked the north shore of Newnans Lake via Gum Root Swamp
this morning (8:20-11:45) and found about 55 species. Best birds of the day
were two probable Rusty Blackbirds foraging along the muddy lakeshore, and a
first-winter Franklin's Gull (third county record). Other good sightings:

American White Pelican ~275
Great Blue Heron 64
Great Egret 38
Northern Shoveler ~20
Green-winged Teal ~150
Hooded Merganser 25
Black-bellied Plover 1
American Avocet 1
Dunlin ~50
Long-billed Dowitcher 19
Caspian Tern 1

Everyone should have a hobby;
I however prefer an obsession.
