Backyard birds are in abundance here too. Finally got my first
Swallow-tailed Kite just north of WalMart off Tymber Creek Road in Ormond
Beach. Nesting has been traditional for them back there but as the
developers put the squeeze on prime land with Cyprus their nesting success is
bound to take a turn for the worse (worst).

Also found a pair of Prairie Warblers who were so hungry they were oblivious
to the fact they were only 2-3 feet away from me. Watched them for about 20
minutes at the Jiffy Lube on State Road 40 in Ormond.

Another great delight was finding 7 Least Terns dipping for water out of a
pond right next to the KMart on 40 and Williamson. They nest there annually
upwards of 40 - 50 pairs.

Just have to wait for my GCFL and my spring will be official.

BTW, the Osprey did spend the night atop the dead tree behind me. He left
about 6 AM today. Will be so curious to see if this will be a habitual
handout for him.
