Keiller,

Welcome to the list.

One of the best resources I've found for the technology side of the house is
Whatis.

http://www.whatis.com

Another one you might try for technical stuff is
http://www.techweb.com/encyclopedia/.

I would also suggest you look at http://xrefer.com/. This is a British site
that offers free access to over 50 major reference works and allows you to
limit your search to a particular area such as business law. You can see a
complete list of titles at http://www.xrefer.com/allbooks.jsp but the
business law section includes:

A Dictionary of Accounting, Oxford University Press
A Dictionary of Business, Oxford University Press
A Dictionary of Law, Oxford University Press
 Penguin Business Dictionary
 Penguin Dictionary of Economics
 Penguin International Dictionary of Finance
Wall Street Words - An Essential A-Z Guide for Today's Investor

Subject: newbie question

hi there,
I'm sorry to waste anyone's time, but as I'm a newbie records person, and a
newbie to the list, I reckon you get one chance to ask a silly question:
If I wanted to find a thesaurus specifically for Business, or Economics, or
New Economy Technology type stuff, where would I look?
I seem to be able to find all manner of other specialist thesauri except the
one I'd like. Any suggestions gratefully received.

keep up the good work,
Keiller MacDuff
