Greetings!
To introduce myself, my name is Joy Schechter and I work for Hearst
Entertainment. We make movies for TV as well as several series on Basic Cable.
As many of our Producers are entitled to profit participation on the shows, we
have a practice of SAVING EVERYTHING.
Records Management is part of my job and I've been getting an education
interviewing vendors since we maxed out our in-house storage facility. I am
seeking information in the following areas:
1) SOFTWARE: What is a good inexpensive software for a small company
(1000+ boxes) for inventory. Currently I work from a very detailed
excel spreadsheet.
2) FILM INDUSTRY RETENTION: How long do you retain your account/contract
files for profit participation?
3) SITE VISIT: I saw the recommendation to visit the off-site facility.
Any suggestions on what to look for at the site?
I've already gotten a wealth of information from the recent emails. It's great
to have access to a group like this.
