My name is Al Friend and my call is W4CF.  I am a graduate of UF and a
former member of the Gator Amateur Radio Club.  I have been a subscriber
to the GARC email list for some time.

This message is directed to GARC email subscribers who are also members
of ARRL.

You will soon be receiving ballots to vote for a new vice director for
the Southeastern Division.  The current vice director, Evelyn Gauzens,
W4WYR, is not running for reelection. One of the candidates running for
the position is Sandy Donahue, W4RU (formerly WA4ABY).  I have known
Sandy for many years.  We were both quite active in GARC in the
mid-60's, spending a great deal of time operating and working on the
station equipment at W4DFU.  Since then, Sandy has been a loyal
supporter of ARRL and our division director, Frank Butler, W4RH.  Over
the years I have talked to Sandy at numerous hamfests in Florida and
Georgia (where I now reside part time).  He travels extensively to
support ARRL at these events.  He is also currently the ARRL Georgia
Section Manager.

even though he doesn't live in Florida any more, he's a Gator too.
