Our photocopiers also have on-line counters available. These counters are
typically very limited in what they can do.
We had Equitrac cost recovery units on our photocopiers and facsimile
machines from 1989 - 1999. I did extensive research in 1999 on whether to
upgrade to a new system with
Equitrac www.equitrac.com
or
Control Systems www.copitrak.com
We purchased a new Control Systems system through Veritrak and have been
EXTREMELY pleased with its performance and flexibility. We have also added
LaserTrak (by Control Systems) software to track and charge back for prints
made on our laser printers.
The system automatically downloads all information to our Accounting
Software (Prolaw) and an entry is automatically placed on a client bill for
photocopy charges, fax charges, etc.
I highly recommend Control Systems.
I don't know where you are located but you could contact my sales rep in
Ohio at [log in to unmask] if you wanted additional information.
Good luck.

Subject: information
I have a question for this list....(this may not necessarily be a
records management thing). We have copy counters installed on
our photocopiers that we can charge copies to projects with. Each
month, I print the information from the counters with an adding
machine type printer.......then, the information is entered into the
computer, and billing, invoicing etc. is done.
It seems to me that since the information is in electronic format to
begin with, there should be some way that I could download it and
keep it in electronic format, and then transfer it to the computer. If
anyone knows something that would work..thanks.
