One of the largest positives for using a functional rather than
departmental schedule is you achieve consistency across an organization,
irrespective of the periodic changes to the organizational structure, if
the records affected are originals maintained by the "department of
or copies housed in other parts of the organization used for reference or
convenience, or if your records are electronic or paper.
