Folks:
You know that I like you, and I definitely gain from the questions and
answers that come through here. I am even on record as being willing to
eat and drink with you, buy and wear a listserv cap, and even introduce
you to the family.
However, I just don't have the time to be dealing with Friday joke mail
and other non-business stuff. I admire those of you who have lots of
time to read and reply to it, but I don't. I would ask that we get a
little focus. PLEASE!!

Subject: junk emails
I appreciate that people like to chat and communicate and it can make
the day go by more pleasantly. BUT.....the proliferation of ARMA emails
of a personal/whimsical nature seems excessive. Whereas my personal
preference would be to establish some guidelines for LISTSERV usage, I
would kindly request that people that are responding to people about
these whimsical subjects do so directly to the person versus the whole
list. Perhaps we need to have two different LISTSERV's, one for
substantive and one for whimsical emails? I really am not trying to be
negative or a bore, it is just frustrating to keep deleting so many
emails and it undermines the credibility of the LISTSERV as a serious
professional tool. Again, I am trying to be nice :>) with my feedback
and I accept that most of you may disagree with my message, so forgive
me if I have come across in the wrong way.
