"If a tree falls in a forest with no one there to hear it....is there any sound??"
Depends on how you define 'sound' - airwaves vibrating, or must there also be a membrane they impact on, or must that also be connected to a brain to resolve the signal? (more grins)
Or worse, the reductionists would say that (a) the tree and the forest only exist if and when there is someone there (b) your tree , forest and sound are only opinions anyway (sighs not grins) and if they exist are different from mine so who is or is not hearing what?
Maybe all those people at Andersens and Enron only thought they were shredding what they thought was documents? Maybe if they'd thought the documents weren't records the documents (or records) wouldn't have existed and they would't have needed to shred them?
And I won't even get into uncertainty or multiple dimensions because it's Friday up here.

These views are mine alone. They may or may not be those of any previous or present employers or clients. I don't know. If I'd asked and they'd agreed, I would have signed it "Bloggs and Co and Glenn". Or whatever. But I haven't, so I didn't.
