Workshop Topic: "Effective Strategies for Document Archiving in an
Electronic World"
Summary - The concepts of document lifecycle management are well
established. Managing digital records as corporate assets is something
not all of us are familiar with. This presentation will discuss the roll
of archiving technologies in developing effective strategies for
protecting digital records for long-term preservation and corporate
compliance. Changes in legislation pertaining to electronic documents
as well as recent world events all point to the need for public and
private sector companies to assess their exposure to loss when paper records
are no longer maintained.
A tour of LASON's Cambridge document capture facility, the largest and
most secure in Canada, will be included. Attendees will enjoy an
up-close look at an automated document factory - from paper, to
digital, to film!
