The Executive Assistant to the CFO or other administrative staff in the
Finance and Accounting Dept. is usually responsible for meeting the needs of
internal and external auditors. I can't think of a company where the
Records Manager was responsible for locating A/P and other financial
information for auditors.
Also, external auditors from any of the Big 4 should be trained in ERP's
like SAP, PeopleSoft and JD Edwards since their I.T. consulting colleagues
install these systems for their clients.

Subject: Accounts Payable - Audits
I asked the list the following question and got only one response. I'm
hoping the lack of response was because people were at the conference.
I had a question by someone who wanted to know how companies managing their
accounts payable records in electronic format only (no paper retained) do
when audited.
What arrangements/processes do they have to insure space, computer
equipment, etc., are available for the auditors (state and federal) to
review the electronic records?
Thanks.,
