Question: Does anyone know of any case law supporting the requirement to be
able to
recreate a record as it existed at the point of creation?

Response: I do know when I was the Records Manager/Access to Information and
Privacy Coordinator here in Ontario/Canada in Municipal Government, I had an
access to information request for certain records where I had to perform a
search on all hard drives, diskettes, cd's, microfilm, hard copy etc. We
received an Order from the Minister which directed us to do perform search,
which included all machine readable records etc. from point of creation in
any and all formats. Cheers!
