We initiated deployment of the web-based version of OmniRIM (Ver
5.8) in August 2002 for our paper record holdings at all our North America
divisions. I can't speak to how OmniRIM handles electronic records
management at this time, but this particular version has served us very well
since initial deployment. To date, we have deployed this system in 17 of 35
divisions as well as at our Corporate Headquarters and have received very
positive feedback from our user base. For example, at our Corporate
Headquarters Archive facility, 614 total retrieval requests were received
during the course of one month. The implementation of OmniRIM in
combination with scan-on-demand document delivery reduced the retrieval and
shipping of boxes (based on those 614 requests) from 427 boxes to 5 boxes.
One particular comment from a user -- "I think you just broke a land-speed
record!!"

The OmniRIM staff have worked very diligently with us to customize
many aspects of the system to our specific needs, including reports
generation. For electronic records, we are currently in negotiations with
Documentum, but OmniRIM does have a Documentum interface that we will be
evaluating as we move forward with this project. And we will also be
deploying a French version of this software by the end of 2004.

Since the subject of the software came up, I thought that I would at
least provide some of the positive aspects for any others out there that may
be evaluating software such as this.
