Hi all
well - the power is still not on - but the phones are back in service. It
was quite an interesting night. All is well. There is some damage - minor;
however, major to the people that live in the places that were hit.
the bridges are open here and there is traffic. Wind and rain have died
down dramatically. as of this evening, there is no electricity on the island -
which translates to no food, gas, ice, traffic lights, etc. If you come out -
by all means - be careful. US1 in St Augustine is open for business.
I drove up to Guana for a while - there were about 100 terns out there. I
only saw ONE sooty tern, so probably got there too late. There were a few
black terns and the rest were the usuals. There were many roseate spoonbills
flying around and the woodstorks were arriving. The place was packed with
fishermen.
I also ran through Vilano Boat ramp, where there was zip. Also a few
roseate spoonbills hanging around.
thanks
