I decided to go down to the beach this morning to see if Northern
Gannets were moving after the cold front. They were. I clicked off
402 in 45 minutes. Common Loons were moving, with four southbound.
Ducks were also flying. Most were so far out in the refraction
zone that I did not count them, but my estimate would be at least
250. The only ones close enough to ID were two Red-breasted
Mergansers. I also saw what were seven probable Pomarine Jaegers --
two groups of three and a single. All were far out, but the size
and jizz were right. Both groups and the single were flying rapidly
to the south, easily overtaking and passing gannets.
