Hi all,
Just had 12 species of Warblers in the past hour.................IN MY SIDEYARD!  Obviously the "Dam" that has been keeping things slow around here has broken.   Tanagers, Orioles, Thrushes, Vireos, Hummingbirds, Gnatcatchers, Catbirds, Thrashers also seen .  Two new yardbirds for the list, but then who is counting?  :-}
Best birds were Black-Throated Green warblers, and Bay -breasted, as well as yard first Chestnut- Sided(fall adult male plumage). Also photographed a Parula because I had never seen the Bay streaking on the Sides of the birds so pronounced as on 1 individual. (See Sibley's) I thought I had some kind of Hybrid at first. The majority of the birds were seen in 1 small tree, a Hackberry (thanks Shirley).
Hopefully these birds won't all catch the Yucatan express tonight and local spots such as Turkey Creek should be hopping!
