RE: McKnight Doctoral Fellowship Call for Applications
The Deadline for the McKnight Doctoral Fellowship has been extended to January 31, 2006. A brief narrative of the Fellowship follows. If you have questions concerning the Fellowship please contact Sarah Traylor at [log in to unmask] or at 392-6444.
The Office of Graduate Programs, in partnership with the Florida Education Fund, administers the McKnight Doctoral Fellowship for African American Students. The program, established during the 1984-85 academic year, is designed to increase the representation of African American doctoral students in doctoral programs at Florida Universities. Each fellow receives an annual stipend of 12,000 with tuition and fee waivers for a maximum of five years.
Eligibility Requirements: The McKnight Doctoral Fellowship is limited to students who are U.S. citizens of African-American descent and admitted into a doctoral program at the University of Florida.
Fellowship Application Process: Application for the McKnight Doctoral Fellowship must be submitted directly to the Florida Education Fund prior to January 15th of each year for consideration for funding the following fall term. Students are notified of their status by March 15th of each year. Students are strongly encouraged to also submit a UF graduate application to the Office of Admissions.
