It is not spam.  It is a familiar corporate sign to personally welcome you to the event.  Now days, if you attend a lot of conventions or even weddings for that matter it is a common practice to find a gift waiting on your hotel bed.  Companies or individuals can pay up to $25 for each delivery. I can imagine the money Iron Mountain put out to welcome us all.
