I've been lurking on this list for some time now and am very grateful for its existence and all the good information that is so generously shared. Because this is the first time I've posted to the list, I guess it's time to introduce myself.

I'm the Special Collections librarian in Benjamin F. Feinberg Library at the State University of New York in Plattsburgh. I spend half of my time there and the other half as an Instruction/Reference librarian. Our College Archives is also kept in Special Collections, hence my interest in all things records management.

In case you don't know, Plattsburgh is a smallish town bordering on Lake Champlain (the "other" great lake and home of Champy), 30 minutes from Canada, 20 minutes from Burlington, VT, and a hop, skip, and jump to the beautiful Adirondack Mountains.

In the last year I've become actively involved in the SAA Records Management Roundtable and wanted to let all of you know about an exciting project that we're planning. Please consider joining us--message follows my signature.

Greetings colleagues!

We are developing a book prospectus to present to the Society of American Archivists Publications Board. The subject of the publication is Green Archives. While there is a growing awareness in the general public about green and sustainable issues, there is little existing literature about the relationship of green and sustainable practices to archives, records management, or other recordkeeping activities.

The Publications Board requires that we provide both an outline of what the publication would cover and a list of possible contributors. If you are interested in contributing, know someone who is interested in contributing, would like a detailed outline of potential chapters, or would just like more information, please contact one of us.

Remember this is *not* a call for authors; it is a call for information needed to develop a prospectus for the SAA Publications Board. Once the publication has been approved, we will go forward with a call for authors.

Thank you for your assistance!
