Everyone,
I'm writing to give you an update on what's going on with he
Ag/biodiesel Committee since we haven't met in a while. One of the
projects that was included in our strategic plan for the SEDC is well on
its way. This project is the development of a useable database which
will show the who, what , and where people and universities are doing
biofuels research in the southeast.
As a reminder, we are trying to help make the SE region the biofuels
research capital of the US by showing who's doing what kind of research.
Hopefully, this will also lead to multi-university cooperation and
collaboration which can increase funding opportunities. It will
hopefully further lead to an acceleration of the research knowledge by
connecting researchers in different University systems who have common
interests. To date we have received an enormous amount of information
from some Universities and others have not responded. I wanted to make
sure that you had an opportunity to participate so I am writing to
follow up on my colleague initial email to request that you help us make
this database as robust as possible. Please forward this email to your
university friends and colleagues who might wish to be included in this
data base.

Initially the SEDC research database will be made available to its
members and has the potential to be posted as a separate database online
in a manner similar to the existing SEDC projects
(www.southeastdiesel.org/Projects.html).
