1. CORRECTION: NEXT WEEK’S HOURS ARE M-F, 8AM to 5PM
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Early risers, take note: we will open at 8 am next week, and not at 9 am, as had been previously announced.
The online schedule at http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/ps/hours/ has been corrected to reflect this.
Today (3/5) we will close at 5pm, and then we will be open Monday to Friday (3/8-3/12) from 8 am to 5 pm.
There will be no Sunday hours on 3/7 or 3/14.
2. FACULTY RENEWAL PERIOD HAS BEGUN
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Over Spring Break, faculty members may wish to review what they have out from the Libraries, so that they can return the items they are no longer using and renew the loans of those they still need.
Most loans are due April 1 and can now be renewed until October 1 using the online service at http://uf.catalog.fcla.edu/uf.jsp?Login=1 .
"Library policy may prevent or limit some renewals such as those for course reserves, periodicals, or items that have been recalled; in these cases a message will appear on the Loan Detail screen indicating the reason the item could not be renewed."

3. THREE FEATURED DATABASES

Wherever you spend the break, you can still quench your thirst for knowledge about Latin America, as long as you have an Internet connection.
Latinobarómetro – a series of public opinion surveys carried out yearly in most Latin American countries. Create tables and graphs online, or download raw data for analysis with your own SAS, SPSS, or Stata software. http://www.latinobarometro.org/latino/latinobarometro.jsp .
Latin America Advisor – a daily update from Washington, DC about current events. http://web.uflib.ufl.edu/latin-america-advisor/ .
Economist Intelligence Unit reports – Annual Profiles and Quarterly Reports on the economic and political situation in each country.
http://www.eiu.com/index.asp?layout=countries®ion_id=440000444&rf=0 .
The three websites above are accessible to UF students, faculty and staff through our institutional subscriptions. For off-campus access, please see http://www.uflib.ufl.edu/ufproxy.html .
