The collection covers every region of the world and features the work of many of the most influential documentary filmmakers of the 20th century, including interviews, previously unreleased raw footage, field notes, study guides, and more.

3. CUBAN SLAVE INSURANCE DOCUMENTS

The collection includes seventeen insurance policies and other documents pertaining to insurance for slaves in Cuba. The policies include the names and locations of owners, the insured value of the slaves, and descriptive information about the slaves such as name, age, gender, skin and hair color, height, facial features, health, and the presence of scars. The collection includes an inventory of 105 slaves in the jurisdiction of Trinidad in the area of Rio de Ay, as well as a coolie immigration document from Trinidad. They were purchased with the generous support of the Manuel Pedro González Endowment.

We are very pleased to welcome Jossie García as a new full-time member of our staff.
She is fluent in Spanish and English, and has experience in cataloging and other areas of library work.
