2. UF BILLING ISSUES
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Many faculty and staff members have just recently received bills for charges that have been in the UF accounting system for some time. Apparently, UF Financial Services had not been notifying UF employees about these charges, which include library fines and other amounts owed to the university since 2008. The library automatically sends charges accrued by patrons to the central billing office in Criser Hall, and that office, unfortunately, was not sending out bills. [In my own case, I was just recently billed for 40 cents I owed for printing in the CIRCA lab in 2008.- PSL]
We have heard from some people about these charges, and understand their confusion. Most likely, if you have just recently been notified of Latin American Collection fines, these are not related to the recent April 1 deadline for faculty renewals, but are older charges that have been in the system for some time.
If you believe that the fines were assessed in error, then please contact us. Otherwise, please contact UF Financial Services about payment options.
