HONORS OFFICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

1. ANNOUNCEMENT: No Walk-in Advising Today (TODAY):
Walk-in advising hours for today have been canceled.

2. ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Summer / Fall Course Registration (NEW POSTING):
Summer / Fall registration will be here in less than a month, so now is a great time to check ISIS for holds and other information.

All engineering majors have an advising hold - you must meet with an advisor in engineering (*not honors*) to get your engineering advising hold removed. To view the list of engineering advisors by department, visit http://www.eng.ufl.edu/students/advising/who-is-my-advisor

Also check for other holds, including financial holds and emergency contact holds. Staying on top of holds will make the registration process much smoother.

The schedule of courses will be available starting Friday at http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/soc/ . Fall honors course descriptions should be online soon after Spring Break (there are no honors courses during the summer). Honors course registration for first year students will take place on March 22 and 23. Regular registration will begin March 26.

Please plan ahead so you'll be ready when registration begins!

3. ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Taking Courses Elsewhere this Summer (NEW POSTING):
Are you thinking about taking a course elsewhere this summer? You must get the approval of your college advising office (honors advisors cannot do this) prior to doing so. For more information, see http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/currents/transients.html

Certain colleges may have additional requirements or guidelines for taking courses elsewhere. For example, see the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences http://www.advising.ufl.edu/information/trans.html and the College of Business http://warrington.ufl.edu/sb/advising/registration/trans.asp . Please meet with your college directly if you have questions.

Also note for first-year students, if you are planning to take a course elsewhere this summer in hopes of fulfilling the 9 hour summer requirement, courses must be taken at one of the State University System institutions. Community colleges (including those converted to state colleges) and private colleges do not count. For more information see https://catalog.ufl.edu/ugrad/current/regulations/info/graduation.aspx#summer

4. ACADEMIC ANNOUNCEMENT: Enrollment / GPA / Conduct Verification Forms:
If you need someone to complete a form verifying your enrollment at the University of Florida, your GPA, and/or your conduct/discipline record, please visit the Registrar's Office on the 2nd floor of Criser Hall. Common examples might be verification for insurance or scholarships or the common application for transferring to another institution.

For more information on enrollment verification: http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/enrollment.html

For more information on academic and conduct verification: http://www.dso.ufl.edu/sccr/procedures/deancertif.php

Please note that the honors advisors cannot complete these forms for you.

Ever get annoyed by spare change rattling around in your pockets? Does your piggy bank need to lose some weight? Do you like pizza? If you answered yes to any of these questions and live in Hume, we have the event for you! The SHO Relay for Life team is sponsoring Change Wars in Hume. The side that collects the most change will win a pizza party. The cans for change collection are located in each side's kitchen and collection ends on March 1. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, and your side could win some absolutely delicious pizza - so please donate and help a great cause!
