Has anyone witnessed any shark/sea turtle interactions? I am working
at the Sea Turtle Research Center at the University of FLorida, and am
interested in studying the behavior of Sea Turtles in the presence of
large predators (most likely tiger sharks). If you have witnessed any
interactions (whether the shark was successful or not) I would
appreciate it if you could pass on the details, such as time of day,
location, direction and manner of the shark's approach, size of the
turtle, at what point the turtle became aware of the shark, how it
responded, etc. You can either respond via CTURTLE or to my own e-mail
address ([log in to unmask]). Also, if anyone knows of literature or
other resources pertaining to this topic I would appreciate it if you
could pass that information on as well. Thanks very much for your
time.
Sincerely,
Brian Riewald
