Adam Kent and I walked the north shore of Newnans Lake via Gum Root Swamp
this morning (8:20-11:45) and found about 55 species. Best birds of the day
were two probable Rusty Blackbirds foraging along the muddy lakeshore, and a
first-winter Franklin's Gull (third county record). Other good sightings:
