     The Japanese government has made significant efforts to 
increase the usage of various forms of renewable energy, with an 
emphasis on Tokyo. Being a signatory of the Kyoto protocol, 
various government agencies are trying to further incorporate 
renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies into their 
existing, domestic power grids.
