Post Doctoral Associate Position Available.

Soil and Water Science Department, IFAS

Start date: Approx. March 1, 2011

A 12-month Post Doctoral Associate position is available to analyze and write up existing soil, plant, and water quality data collected from a large multi-year and multi-site project in the Suwannee River Basin.  This project involved monitoring best management practices on row crop, dairy, and poultry farms and modeling crop yield and nutrient leaching from the row crop site using the DSSAT model. Candidates should have experience working with large data sets of soil-nitrogen species data, monitoring well data, lysimeter N leaching data, plant nutrient content, and crop yield data.  Experience in farm-scale crop/water quality modeling and nutrient mass balance is needed.  The successful candidate will use original data sets and project reports to analyze data, conduct modeling studies, write peer-reviewed journal papers about nutrient mass balance and effectiveness of BMPs, and prepare presentations on the results.
