Dear All,
I have recently subscribed to INSNA. My name is Lucio Naccarella, I am a
Research Fellow in the Department of General Practice, School of Medicine,
The University of Melbourne, Australia.
I am currently enrolled in a PhD and have developed a research proposal
that seeks to measure and describe patterns of interactions between general
practitioners and other primary health care providers. The Research
Question is: How do GPs work together with other primary health care
providers? I intend to use a multiple case study design. The proposal
emerges out of my work over the last six years within the general practice
field in Australia (eg., evaluating general practice based interventions;
researching the role of GPs in population heath, specifically the interface
between general practice and the primary health care system and mapping
the role of general practice in strengthening the Australian Primary Health
Care Sector).
I am aware of some work that has been conducted using Social Network
Analysis theory and techniques within the primary health care sector (e.g.,
Elizabeth West, Hierarchies and Cliques in the social networks of health
professionals, 1999, in the UK ). I would appreciate being contacted by
anyone who is aware of work related to my research topic.
Yours Sincerely
Lucio Naccarella
