There will be a final information session on Wednesday, September 18 at 4:00
pm in 219 Dauer Hall (Ruth McQuown Room) about the Fulbright program.
Students who attended an earlier information session do not need to attend
this meeting.

UF students have the opportunity to win a Fulbright award to any of over 140
different countries. The awards are for graduating college seniors, as well
for as graduate research at the MA and Ph.D. level. Students in any field
can apply. Applicants for a Fulbright award must be U.S. citizens, have a
strong GPA, have a record of community service, and be interested in
international scholarship. The awards fund research and study for up to a
year in a different country. Awards cover international travel,
maintenance, research allowance, and tuition waivers, if applicable.

Students must create a project proposal and submit a personal statement in
addition to basic information in the application. More information can be
found on the Fulbright web site at <http://www.iie.org/fulbright/us/>.
Students are strongly encouraged to begin work on the applications
immediately, and can visit
<http://www.honors.ufl.edu/scholarships/howtoapply.doc> for specific
directions on applying through UF. A password and signon is required to
work on the application, and can be obtained from the information session or
by going to 140 Tigert Hall.

The UF campus deadline for 2002-2003 Fulbright awards will be Monday,
October 7, 2002 to 140 Tigert Hall. For more information, contact Jeanna
Mastrodicasa at [log in to unmask] <mailto:[log in to unmask]> or 392-1519.
