1. IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR FRESHMEN ENTERING UF SUMMER B 2002: Are you a
Bright Futures Recipient beginning in 2002-2003 and need to do up to 5
CLEP tests? Go to http://www.at.ufl.edu/~clep/ to sign up for CLEP exams
on campus. Your CLEP exams must be completed by the end of Summer B. You
will need to take the form your advisor signed at Preview to the testing
center when you take the test. If you have misplaced the form, go to the
Academic Advising Center, your college's advising office, or the Honors
Program in 140 Tigert Hall for a replacement. Remember that CLEP tests
must be completed by the end of Summer B. It is also important to check AP
and IB scores as you receive them to make sure they fulfill the

2. FEE AND DEFERRAL DUE DATE: Fees and deferments are due to University
Financial Services by 3:30 pm on July 12, 2002. Make sure that payment or
deferments are received in University Financial Services by the deadline.
To see how much is owed choose "Account Summary" from the Financial
Information link at http://www.isis.ufl.edu. Fees may be paid by credit
card on ISIS - choose "Make a Payment."
3. S-U OPTION DEADLINE: S-U Option deadline for Summer B is July 10.
S-U Option forms are available in 222 Criser Hall. Subject to college
degree program and department guidelines, students may take elective
course work and earn grades of S (Satisfactory) or U (Unsatisfactory).
Once the S-U option is approved, students may not revert to a letter
grade, nor elect the S-U option after the deadline. To elect the S-U
option, students must obtain the approvals indicated on the form. They may
elect the S-U option for only one course each term; this option is in
addition to courses that are taught only on an S-U basis. Courses taken to
fulfill Writing and Math Requirement (Gordon Rule) may not be taken S-U.

Gator Aid Application Guides for the 2002-03 academic year are available
at Student Financial Affairs (SFA) in S-107 Criser Hall. For more

5. DIVISION OF HOUSING NEWS: July 8 through 12 is Residence Hall Safety
and Security Week. Upcoming deadlines: Deferred Summer B Housing
Payments due July 17 and Fall Semester Rent Due August 1. See

6. STUDENT HEALTH CARE CENTER WEBSITE: The Student Health Care Center
has numerous services and opportunities for students, and they invite you

7. UNIVERSITY COUNSELING CENTER: The University Counseling Center in 301
Peabody Hall provides strictly confidential and free services to currently
enrolled UF students. They include the following: Individual and Couples
Counseling for personal, relationship and interpersonal skills
development; Group Counseling focusing on topics including personal
growth, women's empowerment, self-confidence, math confidence, myself and
my family, stress management, learning disabilities support, coping with
loss, and support for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered persons;
Multicultural Counseling for assistance to racially and ethnically diverse
student populations; Academic and Career Decision-Making Counseling to
assist students in developing academic pathways toward fulfilling careers.

8. NEW ONLINE MASTER PROMISSORY NOTE FOR FEDERAL DIRECT LOAN BORROWERS:
For new borrowers who do not yet have a Master Promissory Note (MPN) on
file at UF's Student Financial Affairs (SFA), an online MPN is available
through the Federal Department of Education web site at
http://dlenote.ed.gov. New borrowers should complete this form as soon as
they are awarded a loan by SFA. Complete only one MPN for all federal
loans at UF.

with a valid Gator 1 card held on most Friday nights at the J. Wayne Reitz
