IMPORTANT ADMINISTRATIVE INFORMATION:
1.  PLANNING TO GRADUATE?  Degree applications are due to Registrar's
Office on Friday, February 1. You may download forms for the Associate of
Arts Certificate from http://www.reg.ufl.edu/pdf/aa-app1.pdf and Degree
Application from http://www.reg.ufl.edu/pdf/degapp1.pdf. Commencement
information will be available February 8 on the Registrar home page and
ISIS Bulletin Board.

2.  TRANSIENT FORM:  Are you planning to attend school at home during the
summer?  Complete the Transient Student Form today.  You will have to
receive permission from your college and/or major to take courses
non-degree at another institition.  Instructions are available at
http://www.reg.ufl.edu/pdf/transient-student-instructions.html.

3.  CAMPUS COPY CENTER AND POST OFFICE: Students or organizations needing
copying, printing, designing or mailing services can bring their projects
to UF Mail and Document Services at 715 Radio Road.  This is part of UF's
Business Services division and students will be charged reasonable prices.
Convenient on-campus location, quick turn-around, personal service and
free visitor parking at the door. Call 392-1134 for more information.

4.  ONLINE SCREENING FOR ALCOHOL, DEPRESSION, AND EATING DISORDERS:
Student Mental Health Services is now providing online screenings for
alcohol, depression, and eating disorders. Screenings are anonymous and
confidential and are available 24 hours a day at no charge.  The screening
tools can be accessed from the "What's New" section of the SHCC homepage
or directly at the following address:
http://www.mentalhealthscreening.org/screening/login.asp (keyword: gators).

EDUCATIONAL ENHANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES:
5.  STUDY ABROAD FAIR JAN. 30:  The UF International Center will host the
Spring Study Abroad Fair on Wednesday, January 30 from 10 am to 3 pm on
the Reitz Union Colonnade.  The fair is a starting point for students to
begin navigating through the many study abroad possibilities and to learn
about the benefits of becoming a "Global Gator."  The deadline for summer
programs and UFIC scholarship applications is March 1.  For more

6.  UNIVERSITY SCHOLARS PROGRAM:  The Office of the Provost is pleased to
announce that the University Scholars Program will be seeking
undergraduate participants for 2002-2003.  The University Scholars Program
presents University of Florida undergraduates with the opportunity to work
closely with faculty mentors while pursuing fundamental research,
exploring scholarly inquiry, and developing new knowledge.  University
Scholars will receive a $2500 research stipend.  The deadline for
applications is March 1, 2002, and applications should be submitted to the
college or major department in which the research will be performed.

7.  WOMEN'S LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE:  Register now for the 15h annual
Women's Leadership Conference, which will be held Sunday, Feb. 10 in the
Reitz Union from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm.  This is a great opportunity to
enhance leadership skills and network with campus and community leaders,
and all are welcome to attend.  The $25 registration fee covers conference
activities including three workshops, networking activities, breakfast and
lunch, great speakers and giveaways.  Space is limited so register now at

8.  WHO'S WHO/HALL OF FAME REVIEW COMMITTEE SEEKS INPUT:  The Who's Who
and Hall of Fame Review Committee is holding a public forum on January 30
from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the Division of Housing Conference Room on the
corner of 13th St. & Museum Dr.  If you would like to share your thoughts
on the criteria, application, selection committee make-up, how these
awards have been selected in the past, or any other aspect of these
awards, please attend the public forum.  If you have any questions about

9.  RUNNER'S RENDEZVOUS:  This Valentine's Day, show your love to those
who need it most.  The Office of Community Service is hosting its first
annual 5K run/walk, A Runner's Rendezvous, on February 16.  All of the
race proceeds will go to MASCOT, a program that allows college students to
make a difference in the lives of public school children.  The run starts
at 10 am and lunch will be provided for all participants, along with a
long sleeve T-Shirt, fun raffle prizes and a race number drawn by a MASCOT
tutored child.  Pre-registration is $15 and can be done in Turlington
Plaza Jan. 31 and Feb. 4-15 or in 316 Reitz Union.  Race Day Registration
is $18.

10.  WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH:  Mini grants for Women's History Month are
available to student organizations.  Applications can be obtained at
http://www.dso.ufl.edu/WHM/default.html and are due Friday, Feb. 1.
Additionally, events are sought to be included in the Women's History
Month Calendar.  If you have any information that you would like to be
included, please feel free to submit this information via the website.
