Hi Everyone,
Early next year a consortium of international relief and development
organizations would like to conduct surveys in Azerbaijan, Armenia and
Georgia (Caucasus region) among internally displaced persons (IDPs) for a
comparative analysis of displacement situations in the three countries.
Some of the issues to be examined (relavent to this listserv) include
social capital (norms of trust, institutional ties), egocentric networks,
and social cohesion among the displaced and local populations and how
these factors influence-to mention a few- (un)employment, (non)
integration with the local population, access to social services, and
access to, and quality of, shelter. I'm particularly interested in
citations or experiences of measuring social capital, cohesion, and
egocentric networks among IDPs in collective centers/camps.
Thanks in advance,
Larry Dershem

PS: Thanks to those of you who sent suggestions to my previous inquiry
about how to protect the identity of respondents with HIV/AIDS in a
behavioural surveilence survey yet obtain a receipt for the donor when
reimbursing the respondent for his/her participation costs.
