The Wellman-Berkowitz edited book, _Social Structures: A Network Approach_
still serves as a nice text. Each article deliberately gives a
traditional approach to an issue, and then shows the social
network approach to a case study. Originally published in 1988 by
Cambridge University Press, the good news is that Elsevier is still
selling a slightly updated version and
THE HARDBACK IS NOW AVAILABLE AT PAPERBACK PRICES.

Text or not, what a bargain!
