MGCCC book loaded with fun history for all
A journey of eight years led Charles Sullivan on a venture into the realm of
education in South Mississippi. The product of his lengthy study may be found
in the book, "Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College: A History 1911-2000,"
a comprehensive history of the school system.
The school wanted to complete its archives but eventually decided to turn the
research into a book, a project Sullivan at first gladly undertook.

NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Decades from now, history buffs will be able to see and
hear Norman Francis reminisce about his family, his legacy, the sights,
sounds and smells of growing up, what kind of boy he was and what set him on
path to becoming a successful college president.
Francis, president of Xavier University, this November became the 402nd entry
into what may become the largest video oral history of black people in the
United States.
