Gotta brag. Anybody can be 2 steps from Kevin Bacon, but I am now 2 steps
from Richard Gere, Catherine Zeta-Jones (hmn, 3 from Mike and Kirk
Douglas) and Renee Zweilweger.

My friend/neighbor David Lee won Best Sound last night for Chicago.

Of course, the political economic story is why Chicago was made in
Toronto. It's a great example of import substitution leading to an export
industry. By subsidizing the local film industry, Toronto has built a lot
of technical expertise. Folks work cheap(er) and more flexibly than
Hollywood, and Toronto locations can pass for anything in mid and NE USA
