Danah,
I use social network assessment with adolescents in various clinical and
research capacities. I have found it to be very helpful for teens, they often
report it as among their favorite research activities, e.g. I have a paper
coming out in the Journal of Primary Prevention that is a case study that
highlights using social network data as a part of a 3-dimensional profile
(individual, social, and environmental) for low-resource urban teens in
Washington DC.
Not sure if this is what you are looking for.
Best,
Michael Mason,Ph.D.
