I'm in the process of cleaning up some of the deadbeat addresses in SOCNET
(e.g., people who have moved universities but didn't unsubscribe before
their e-mail account was closed). Over the next few months, I will be
sending probes to your e-mail addresses to see if they are active. In
addition, I've made some changes in the SOCNET configuration in order to
take advantage of some automatic address maintenance tools.
If you find yourself bounced off the list by mistake, please don't take it
personally. There are a handful of email systems out there that can send
strange messages back which can easily be misinterpreted by me or the
listserv software. If you are accidentally bumped, just re-subscribe or send
me a message about it. I'll give you a voucher for three free e-mails.
Note: lurkers will not be persecuted. This is only about bad e-mail
