Many thanks for the kind suggestions everyone provided for graphing my data.
I have now successfully entered my data into both NetDraw and Pajek and seem
to be able to graph it quite successfully.
I have a couple of further questions that perhaps you may also be able to
help me with.
The first is quite prosaic. I have identified 10 nodes I am interested in. I
would like to display the network but with only these 10 nodes labelled. Is
this possible in either NetDraw or Pajek (I have used embedded labels in the
DL file) ?
The second is a more general one. I am trying to show connectivity between
nodes that are considered to be unconnected. The graph shows this quite well
of course, however, I notice there are many options for analysis and I would
like to be able to show some alternative analysis in my paper to demonstrate
this.
This obviously needs a bit of research and understanding of the analysis
involved. I notice when searching Amazon that there are a couple of books on
Social Network Analysis. Can anyone make any recommendations for books,
papers (or even web sources) which tackle analysis for a beginner who has
some background knowledge of data analysis in the social sciences (I am a
research psychologist).
Many thanks,
Vaughan
