Since the link Bernie proposed didn't come through, I have the publication
she cites ("Managing Shared Directories and Files", Information Management
Standards and Practices Division, National Archives of Canada, May 1996, in
Portable Document Format), and will e-mail it upon request.

Best regards,

Dear Sheri:

There is a very good article that was put out by the National Archives
of Canada which discusses the management of directories and files as
well as naming conventions. Although this was released in 1996, this
may provide some guidance for you. I've included the link below.

Has anyone developed/implemented a file name convention for e-mail and
office-based documents?

Thanks in advance.
