NJDARM Electronic Records Initiatives
Presenter - Daniel Noonan, Electronic Records Manager New Jersey Division of
Archives and Records Management (NJDARM)
Over the past year, the New Jersey Division of Archives and Records
Management  (NJDARM) has announced many initiatives that deal with
electronic records.  The presentation will cover these initiatives and bring
to light how many of the recent state laws led to them.  Of special note is
the implementation of the Public Records Image Processing Systems which was
approved on September 18, 2003.  NJDARM has set a standard for these types
of systems which might impact the way you do business.

Daniel W. Noonan, MLS: Supervisor, Electronic Records Management, State of
New Jersey, Department of State, Division of Archives & Records Management
Mr. Noonan serves as a consultant to State and local agencies Regarding
electronic records management and preservation.  He coordinates the Public
Records Image Processing System Certification program and serves as the
System Administrator for DARM's Specialized Document Imaging Unit.  Previous
to coming to DARM, Mr. Noonan was the Digital Documents Librarian and
Archivist for NJIT and spent thirteen years as a fixed assets valuation
consultant to the public sector and private industry.  Currently, he is a
guest lecturer in Rutgers' Master's of Library and Information Science and
Master's of Public Administration programs. Mr. Noonan is an active member
of a variety of professional and civic organizations including the New
Jersey Library Association, the American Library Association, Special
Libraries Association, ARMA International, Trenton Cycling Revolution, and
the Trenton Historical Society.  He serves as the Content Working Group
Chair for the New Jersey Digital Highway Initiative, is President of the
Glen Afton Civic Association in Trenton, and is a Leadership Trenton Fellow,
Class of 2003.
