DATA ANALYSIS TRAINING INSTITUTE OF CONNECTICUT
There will be three week-long workshops to be held at the University of
Connecticut in June of 2004. They are:
SOCIAL RELATIONS MODEL: June 7-11, 2004
HIERARCHICAL LINEAR MODEL: June 14-18, 2004
LINEAR DYADIC DATA ANALYSIS MODELING: June 21-25, 2004
Social Relations Model: June 7-11, 2004
Instructors: David A. Kenny, Linda Albright, & Thomas Malloy
Web address: http://users.rcn.com/dakenny/srmworkshop.htm
A workshop on the Social Relations Model, cosponsored by the National
Science Foundation, covers the conceptual underpinnings of the model, how
to apply it, how to analyze data, and how to interpret the results from
those analyses. This model can be viewed as the generalization of the p2
model for continuous variables. Instruction will consist of lecture,
computer workshops, and individualized consultations. There will be smaller
sessions on specialized topics. The emphasis will be practical and not
statistical.
Hierarchical Linear Model: June 14-18, 2004
Instructors: Ann A. O'Connell & D. Betsy McCoach
Web address: http://users.rcn.com/dakenny/datic.hlm.htm
The workshop on Hierarchical Linear Models covers basics and applications
of multilevel modeling with extensions to more complex designs.
Participants will learn how to analyze data via a multilevel model, and be
able to interpret the results from their analyses. The software that we
will be using includes HLMv5 and SPSS.
Linear Dyadic Data Analysis: June 21-25, 2004
Instructors: David A. Kenny & William Cook
Web address: http://users.rcn.com/dakenny/datic.dyad.htm
The workshop on Dyadic Data Analysis will focus on data where both members
of a dyad are measured (e.g., married or dating couples). Among the topics
to be covered are the measurement of nonindependence, confirmatory factor
analysis, the Actor-Partner Interdependence Model, and measures of couple
similarity. The software package primarily used in the workshop will be SPSS.
