Hello, all,
I've added a couple of features to the Baconizer (http://www.baconizer.com)
which might be of interest to some members here.
First, there's a "show incoming links" button next to each
item. It looks like an arrow with three fuzzy tails. (There's
only so much I can do with 300 pixels.) Using this feature
hints at what a power-law distribution looks like up close.
Second, I'm displaying the charts more graphically, and they
are finally tied in with the main site, not hidden away in
a research area. The starting point is currently at
http://www.baconizer.com/charts/top2000/dy2003/index.html
although it will move up one notch as soon as I start
adding data for this year. There's also an explanation
of the data written for the kind of lay audience that has
found its way to the site from places like the
on-line version of USA Today. It's at
http://www.baconizer.com/charts/about.html
Let me reiterate that I wrote it specifically for
the complement of the set of members of this mailing
list, but nonetheless I welcome all your comments.
