A few people have had problems when trying to use a Visa or Mastercard
to pay registration fees for the upcoming Sunbelt conference in Slovenia
in May. They receive a notice that says /Your card was declined. 366
/or/ Your card was declined. 378/
The first message (366) means that the bank that issued the credit card
to you has refused the transaction, possibly because it appears to be a
transaction with Simon Fraser University, a Canadian university. Some
cards have restrictions on the kinds of purchases they can be used for
or the countries in which they can be used. To determine what
restrictions are on your card, you have to contact the bank that issued
the card to you.
The second message (378) means that the card has expired or the expiry
date you entered is in the past.
366 (Declined - Declined by Issuer.)
378 (Declined - CARD EXPIRED)
I do not have access to the number on your credit card and can not get
information about your card from the bank I am using to handle these
transactions, so I cannot give you any more detailed information.
sincerely,
Bill Richards
