Scientific seminar concerning Pathfinder Initiatives of the Programme NEST
Tackling complexity in science took place today (March 29, 2004) at the
Institute of Fundamental Technological Research of Polish Academy of Science
in Warsaw. About 20 representatives of different areas of sciences
(Physics, Biology, Mathematics, Social Sciences, Economy etc.) from
different scientific centers have participated in the seminar.
The participants have agreed that there is an urgent need of coordination of
different approaches to the complexity problem and decided to prepare

A-MAZE Applied Mathematics Ability Zone
for the nearest deadline of NEST-Pathfinder-Complexity call, April 14,
The general objective of the proposal would be coordination of different
approaches to complexity and transfer of mathematical tools between
different fields of sciences. The proposal preparation is taken on by dr
Zbigniew Kotulski (Institute of Fundamental Technological Research PAS,
[log in to unmask]) in cooperation with dr Włodzimierz Klonowski (Group
and Lab. of Biosignal Analysis Fundamentals PAS, Warsaw,
[log in to unmask]) and dr Andrzej Slawinski (NEST NCP Poland, IFTR
PAS, [log in to unmask]).
If you are interested in joining A-MAZE proposal please inform us as soon as
possible. In particular we invite all consortia preparing STREP proposals
for the Complexity Pathfinder Initiative to this call. We are preparing now
