I have over 40 Wikis on Socialtext, including my dissertation Wiki and
many conferences that i've helped organize. This year, SIGGRAPH will
be hosting their Wiki on Socialtext. I also speak with Ross or Pete
daily. I say all of this because i'm betting a lot of my personal and
professional work on my confidence that if Socialtext were to go under,
they would provide a backup of the data.
It is possible to scrape the site, as they are simple HTML webpages,
but i have not done this with any of my other Wikis because i'm
confident in the state of Socialtext.
[I'm not as confident in my own abilities, having messed up an
installation and wiping 1 wiki on my own site already.]
